It is not too light and not too heavy for driving every type of nail except finish nails. Plus, it doesn't make any wierd noises when you hammer with it like some metal handles do. I, like the other reviewer - don't hit anything but nails with it. If i need to use my cats paw, i use the side of the hammer. Otherwise, everyone who has ever borrowed my hammer, even if just for a couple minutes, tells me how much they like it. Indeed, they may deliver but the Vaughan 19oz Cal. framer has all that at a very affordable price. Got mine about 6 months ago, and arm and wrist fatigue/pain are gone. I can sink 16d sinkers with 3 - 4 wacks with this hammer. The milled face has no appreciable wear, but I refuse to use it to strike anything but nails.
