I bought this to replace the bit that came with my set, which got dull after much use (5 years) and finally drilling into a nail. This bit is very sharp, drills easily into any kind of wood, and leaves a clean hole. The hex shank is a great feature, as I had to buy an adapter for my old bit to make it into a quick change bit.
