It works very good for what it is, a hand held planer. Don't expect the same capabilities as a bench jointer or wide joiner/planer, which it sounds like some reveiwers did. I also found misalignment an issue, and followed the directions provided by "Orangekay" in his review to correct blade alignment. This resulted in a good improvement.
