And, as all good books, it has great insights into human nature. As a college football fan, it was enjoyable to read about fellow followers. And, as an Alabama fan, it was neat to read about Alabama football events that I followed and/or participated in. A must read for all Alabama fans. A great read for college football fans. ...more

There were a few laugh-out-loud parts, and most of the book kept a good humurous pace. I would definitely recommend this book to any sports fan! ...more

I read it out loud to my husband and we both laughed until we cried at some of the stories. These types of stories are repeated over and over all during football season all over the United States (we live in Arkansas and it is certainly true here in Razorback Country-the RVers call themselves the Road Hogs). The weird irony of this book is that the Ripper murders are going on and our Heroine, Grace, considers them a tabloid annoyance, wrapped as she is in her own problems. Words cannot describe the awesomeness that is this book. Mr. Durrell's masterpiece demands superlatives. As far as printed material goes, this is all you need to go from intermediate to fluent in German. (Of course you still need to practice speaking, listening, and writing to become fluent).
